About Us

2047 Productions could best be categorized as a film-making club near Richland, Washington.

We are an enthusiastic amateur movie-making group and tend to make films lasting from 10 to 20 minutes that are Sci-Fi, Horror, and maybe music videos. We are particularly keen on ideas that we can make into short films that we enter into local, regional and national competitions.

We make short movies using digital video cameras and lots of other equipment. We have no specific meetings and stay connected by email. We are friends and neighbors that have fun and passion for making videos. We recruit volunteers and those who have the same desire (and available time) sometimes find us.

We have professionals and amateurs alike using the resources we have to make movies. Individuals and groups interested in film and video are always welcome to let us know you are available. There is no need to own equipment or camcorders and no need for previous experience. You may just be interested in trying to act or help with equipment or learn to use your equipment better. The hardest thing is to find the best time to get together as with life now schedules are hectic and some days it is hard to have fun. A mix of interests amongst our group includes script writing, acting, directing, editing, sound, music, prop making, almost any technical and artistic skills could be needed. There is almost always some project that is on-going, planning, shooting, editing, correcting, or celebrating the completion.

We have learned the time and effort it takes to make even a short production. We have a much better appreciation of the talents it takes to convey a visual story and capture the attention of the audience.

Many of us attend a local convention here called “RadCon” in February. We work to assist with their video track and bring in guests with skills we can learn from. Also we stay associated with the Tri-Cities Fantastic Film Festival or “TCIF3” that host many short films.
